Cylinders

  • What are Scuba Diving Cylinders?

Scuba diving cylinders are typically made from aluminum or steel alloys and are equipped with either DIN or yoke valves to connect to regulators. These cylinders can be fitted with accessories such as manifolds, cylinder bands, protective nets, boots, and carrying handles for added convenience and protection.

Divers can carry scuba diving cylinders using various harness configurations depending on their diving needs. The internal volume of scuba cylinders ranges from 3 to 18 liters, with pressure ratings from 184 to 300 bars, suitable for both recreational and technical diving.

Smaller cylinders, such as 0.5, 1.5, and 2 liters, are generally used for inflating surface marker buoys, dry suits, or buoyancy compensators. Scuba divers may dive with a single cylinder, dual cylinders, or a combination of a main and smaller "pony" cylinder, which can be manifolded or independent. Technical divers may require additional cylinders for deeper or more complex dives.

By choosing the right scuba diving cylinder, divers ensure safety, optimal buoyancy, and proper gas management for any underwater adventure.
